Large beaded ornamentation on the outer edge and bead-and-bar decoration on the sight edge nicely offset the bold pattern of this 17th century Spanish reverse frame design. The corners are embellished with a leaf-pattern strap and the entire 22K gold surface, on cracked gesso, has a timeworn finish for added authenticity.
